Registrations up for 2010
A recent college report indicates that winter registration numbers are up 16% over this time last year with a headcount of 2,813 - our highest enrolment ever. One of the most significant increases has been seen in Academic Upgrading with an additional 162 students this semester compared to 2009. Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Nursing, Environmental Reclamation Technician, Education Assistant and Apprenticeship programs and have also seen increases of 20 students or more.
VisCom students win COPS competition
Congratulations to our visual communications students who recently won the Alberta COPS competition, a marketing competition with a prize of $5,000; which will go toward a Vis Comm scholarship.
New Fitness Schedule
Is exercise on your list of New Year resolutions? If so, be sure to check out the Sport & Wellness fitness schedule for the winter semester. Free classes are offered to all MHC employees and students and include Yoga, Hip Hop, Cardio, Toning, Qi Gong and Boot Camp. Click here for the schedule.

It's Tune-Up Time
The Automotive Service Technician program is accepting vehicles for its January/February tune-up session. Please fill out the service request form and send it to the trades department care of Ray Shannon. This service is open to all MHC staff. Ray Shannon will follow up with interested parties with the service schedule details.
Massage Therapy Clinic opens January 25
The student massage therapy clinic at Medicine Hat College opens Monday, January 25th with the 1st year students and welcomes all new and repeat clients. The 2nd year students will be starting on Monday, February 22nd. Clinic hours vary to include morning, afternoon and evening appointments Monday through Thursday. All appointments will be approximately 1.5 hours in length with an interview, evaluation and treatment. Please note that the students are not registered so insurance claims cannot be processed. We thank you in advance for using our clinic to advance the skills of the Massage Therapy students.
Cost: College Students $10.00/ session
Public $20.00/session with a 1st year student, $30.00/session with a 2nd year student
Contact: Please call (403) 504 – 3679 to book an appointment. As students and clinic supervisors may be in class at different times please leave a message and you will be contacted as soon as possible.
