Artist Presentation

New York City artist Cora Cohen will be visiting Medicine Hat College this week to work with first year visual communications students. Known for abstract paintings that draw on contemporary urban and philosophical sources, Cohen will share her work and its evolution from representational art to abstraction at Thursday's slide/lecture presentation. Everyone is welcome to attend.
One Book One Community

The 8th annual One Book One Community book selection is The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway. Activities for the OBOC event include:
Friday October 12
Esplanade Studio Theatre, 7 p.m.
OBOC and the Esplanade present an evening with author Steven Galloway. A musical performance by the Community Orchestra, book sales, and reception will follow.
Saturday October 13
Medicine Hat College, 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Book discussions and other activities, including a presentation by Terry Chapman and Peter Mueller. A highlight for the day will be discussions lead by special guests who lived through the Siege of Sarajevo and now call Medicine Hat home.
Copies of The Cellist of Sarajevo are available from the MHC Libraries in print and on Kobo eReaders. OBOC is a partnership between Medicine Hat College Libraries, Medicine Hat Public Library, L.E.A.R.N. and community volunteers. Admission is free. Visit www.obocmh.ca for more information.
