Understanding Supplement Choices with Matt Jordan

Whether you’re an elite athlete or just trying to get in better shape, you can benefit from the advice offered at an upcoming seminar on drug awareness and supplements.
Matt Jordan, a strength and physiology consultant with the Canadian Sport Centre-Calgary and owner of Jordan Strength Athlete Development, will be at Medicine Hat College on March 28 to discuss the issues of supplements and performance-enhancing drugs.
Jordan will focus on the impact and effects of supplements and substances towards sports performance during his seminar. The event runs from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in room S159. It is free to attend and pre-registration is not necessary.
Social Work Practicum Fundraiser

Join us for an evening of fun, food, music and silent auction. Nine students from the social work program are going to Africa in May for two months as part of an international social work practicum. Over the next three weeks they will be collecting Canadian Tire Money. Donations can be made at Starbucks, the bookstore, the library and the division of Health Studies front office.

The Human Rights Public Awareness Committee invites you to celebrate United Nations World Health Day.
Psych 385 students have been busy creating displays about mental health disorders, including the prevention and reduction of stress, and they are eager to share this information with the college community. Students will be available to discuss their work during the following times (though displays will be available to view outside these times):
Monday April 2: 8:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 1:50 p.m.
Tuesday April 3: 8:00 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.
Displays related to mental health wellness will also be exhibited at the Brooks Campus from April 2-5.

Sapper Stephan Stock Memorial Walk for Valour Place

The proceeds from this memorial walk for MHC alumnus Sapper Stephen Stock will benefit Valour Place. Valour Place, the first facility of its kind in Canada, will provide a home for injured soldiers, veterans, RCMP and their families when in Edmonton for medical treatment and rehabilitation.
