On Campus Events

ARC Sessions for Students
Due to recent students’ requests, staff in Academic Resources Centre (ARC) will be providing six “on-demand” tutoring sessions for the next three weeks. Students can come to ARC on the following dates, and ask for Tanis who will be providing the service free of charge. The following subjects will be covered and all sessions will take place in the ARC (3rd floor of B Wing) starting at noon.

Nov. 4rd- time management, goal making
Nov. 5th- learning styles, note taking, reading comprehension
Nov 8th test taking strategies, test anxiety, exam preparation
Nov 9th- process of writing a paper, how to research, how to format an essay
Nov. 15th- APA formatting
Nov. 16th - Punctuation
Nov. 18th - time management, goal making
Nov. 19th - learning styles, note taking, reading comprehension

Classical Stars of Tomorrow
November 7, 2:30 p.m.
Fifth Avenue United Church


The Medicine Hat College is pleased to present the nationally recognized Academy Chamber Orchestra of Medicine Hat in their first concert of the 2010-2011 concert season. Musical selections will feature the “Holberg Suite, Op. 40” by Grieg and “Adagio and Fugue” by Mozart.

Donations are greatly appreciated and will be used to support upcoming events such as an international tour which is being scheduled for the 2011-2012 season.



Not-for-Sale Event
November 8-9


The Campus Life Committee is organizing a not-for-sale event and needs your help! College employees are asked to donate items that they no longer want that may be of use to students. Items will be displayed in the B Wing hallway November 8-9 and students will be invited to take what they need, free of charge. If you have items you are willing to donate, please drop them off at Career Services by November 5.



The First Step is Understanding

Calling all education, employment and health-care providers working with Southern Alberta’s Low German-Speaking (LGS) to attend a full-day workshop at MHC. The workshop includes:
  • Discover LGS Mennonite History and Heritage
  • Discuss Education, Health and Employment Issues
  • Share Information and Resources

Fee: $60 + GST (inc. refreshments and lunch)

Medicine Hat College Children’s Christmas Party
December 4, 11 a.m.

All M.H.C. employees and their children or grandchildren are invited to attend.  The party will begin at 11:00 in the College Theatre with lunch being served at 12:00 noon in the cafeteria.  Please RSVP to Monika at 504-3616 or e-mail facultyassoc@mhc.ab.ca as treat bags will be passed out to all children. Get your family in the holiday spirit with this fun event…. entertainment, lunch, and a visit from Santa!



MHC Annual Christmas Party

Mark your calendars for MHC's Annual Christmas Party! The party will take place in the Wild Rose Room of Higdon Hall at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Grounds. Tickets are available at The Bookstore until November 26, 2010 for $20/person. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or payroll deduction.

Cocktails 5:30 p.m.
Dinner 6:30 p.m.
Dance 8:00 p.m.
