Course Outline Manager Launch
The Course Outline Manager (COM) is a web-based application developed at Medicine Hat College. The purpose of this program is to improve the consistency and professionalism of our course outlines as these are essentially the contract between our students and the institution for any given course.
COM is a user-friendly program that will help ensure all course outline criteria established by General Academic Council are met. The consistent format and effective design will encourage our students’ use of their outlines by clarifying expectations.
COM is ready to go and Deans’ Council requires that COM be used for all course outlines beginning with the Spring 2010 and Fall 2010 semesters. Educational Technology Services will provide training, one-on-one support and resources to help you switch to COM.

March Madness
It’s that time again! March Madness NCAA Basketball begins Thursday, March 18. The brackets will be posted Sunday and you can enter in the Sport and Wellness office anytime before 10 a.m. next Thursday.
We are going old school this year and you will need to print out a bracket, fill out the names, and submit the paper copy to the Sport and Wellness office. The cost is $10. You can access a bracket at http://www.espn.go.com/ , http://www.cnnsi.com/, or http://www.tsn.ca/.

Electronic Waste Round-up
Computer monitors, CPU's printers, laptops, TV's and other electronics can be dropped off at the college starting 15 March. Please use the bin outside of the duplicating room. The electronic waste is then 97% recycled at GEEP, a registered processor, in Edmonton with all proceeds going to the Saamis Rotary Club to complete community support projects. More computers are available for purchase. The units have a 3GHz clock speed, 80G HD and no operating system or peripherals are included. Price is $40. Email Rodger at rsloan@mhc.ab.ca to view or purchase.
After Hours Sign-In
Campus users are requested to sign in and out at the front desk if they are in the main building between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Signing in allows security to contact you if there is an emergency and ensures they conduct additional patrols to protect your safety. Please be aware that Alberta’s “Working Alone” legislation requires all employers to institute measures to ensure the safety and security of those working alone.
