Revised Hours for Duplicating Room
Please be advised that the hours of operation for the duplicating room have changed for the week of March 8. The new hours are 8 -11 a.m. and 1 - 5 p.m. We ask for your patience as there will only be one staff member on this week. Thank you.



AUPE General Membership Meeting
Monday, March 15, 2010
4 p.m. – 5 p.m.

All AUPE employees are requested to attend a general membership meeting on Monday, March 15, 2010 in S103 (Medicine Hat Campus) and Room 123 (Brooks Campus). The purpose of this meeting is to discuss bargaining issues (current contract expires June 30, 2010).

Downtown in the Vera Bracken Library
On display in the Vera Bracken Library this week is the work of Laara Cassells' Visual Communications 3D design class presenting models of their ideas for rejuvenating store fronts in downtown Medicine Hat. Come visit the new downtown without having to parallel park!



New Innovation Abstract: Walking a Mile in Their Shoes
In "Walking a Mile in Their Shoes: From Online Student to Online Instructor," Jodi McKnight, Assistant Professor of Psychology, Mid-Continent University (KY), describes some strategies that online instructors might use to make online instruction more user-friendly and students more comfortable with the technology.

Electronic Waste Round-up
Computer monitors, CPU's printers, laptops, TV's and other electronics can be dropped off at the college starting 15 March. Please use the bin outside of the duplicating room. The electronic waste is then 97% recycled at GEEP, a registered processor, in Edmonton with all proceeds going to the Saamis Rotary Club to complete community support projects. Liquor Consumption at Campus Events
Planning an event on campus or at the Cultural Centre where liquor is served? Be sure to contact Kimberly Cocks to book space and complete a liquor authorization form at 529-3822 or kcocks@mhc.ab.ca. Once done, visit the Students’ Association office to order your liquor.



College Surplus Sales
Flat screen, 17" monitors, various makes are now on sale for $40. Email Rodger at rsloan@mhc.ab.ca to view or purchase.



After Hours Sign-In
Campus users are requested to sign in and out at the front desk if they are in the main building between the hours of 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Signing in allows security to contact you if there is an emergency and ensures they conduct additional patrols to protect your safety. Please be aware that Alberta’s “Working Alone” legislation requires all employers to institute measures to ensure the safety and security of those working alone.
