Rotary Music Festival
The annual Rotary Music Festival will take place at MHC from March 8 to 21. In past years, this event has booked the Courtyard and Crowfoot Rooms for warm up sessions; however, due to renovations these rooms will not be available. As a result, musical groups will be using the Cuboid and Centennial Hall to “warm up” during the festival. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
New Interlibrary Loan Desktop Delivery Service
The testing phase of the implementation of Relais Post-to-web functionality is complete. Interlibrary loan patrons (faculty, students, staff, outside institutions) now have the option to receive requested articles electronically, delivered right to their desktops. No longer does a patron have to wait for the article to arrive via internal mail (faculty/staff) nor do they have to come to the library to pick up their article (students). Patrons can access the articles from their office, from their home, around the corner or around the world provided they have access to email and the Internet.
We’ve made this improvement in service in an effort to fill requests faster as well as reduce the amount of paper used in filling these types of requests.
To switch to this method of electronic delivery of articles or to get more information about this exciting new service contact the Interlibrary Loan department of the Vera Bracken Library. Contact ILL via email: illo@mhc.ab.ca or at campus extension 3538.
New Innovation Abstract "Math is, Math Was"
In "Math Is, Math Was," Mark Schwartz, Adjunct Instructor, Math, at Southern Maine Community College, describes a successful strategy for encouraging student comments about changes in perspectives and experiences with math over the course of their classroom experiences. A record of comments is important, but the importance of the concern expressed in the "asking" of the questions was the students' major response.

Trial Change to Cultural Centre Public Access Hours
Effective February 7th to May 1st 2010
Please note the following changes to Cultural Centre hours of operation:
Monday – Friday 8:30am – 10:00 pm
Saturday 8:00am – 10:00 pm
Sunday 9:00am - 9:00pm
Security will be in place:
Monday – Friday: 7:45am – 8:30 am, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am – 10:00 pm
If after 20 minutes from booked time no one has shown up for a booking, security will lock the building.
Note: the doors between the city and college sides of the building are to be kept closed at all times as they are designed as Fire separation doors. After hours an alarm will sound if these are opened..

It's Tune-Up Time
The Automotive Service Technician program is accepting vehicles for its January/February tune-up session. Please fill out the service request form and send it to the trades department care of Ray Shannon. This service is open to all MHC staff. Ray Shannon will follow up with interested parties with the service schedule details.
Massage Therapy Clinic Now Open
The student massage therapy clinic at Medicine Hat College is now open. First year students are welcoming all new and repeat clients while second year students will start Monday, February 22nd. Clinic hours vary to include morning, afternoon and evening appointments Monday through Thursday. All appointments will be approximately 1.5 hours in length with an interview, evaluation and treatment. Please note that the students are not registered so insurance claims cannot be processed. We thank you in advance for using our clinic to advance the skills of the Massage Therapy students.
Cost: College Students $10.00/ session
Public $20.00/session with a 1st year student, $30.00/session with a 2nd year student
