Gwynne Dyer: The Triumph of Non-Violence
Wednesday, September 19
7 p.m., College Theatre

At one level, this lecture is about the revolutions of the “Arab Spring” and what they will mean for the region and the rest of the world. At another level, however, it is an attempt to understand how non-violent revolution has evolved, and why it produces much better results than rival revolutionary techniques.

Presented by MHC. This event is free and open to the public.




Apple Learning Tour 2012

Apple Inc. is coming to Medicine Hat College on Thursday, September 20 to present Apple's position in education and demonstrate Apple products. This event is free and open to all college employees.
  • 8 - 9 a.m.  Free Breakfast* and Q&A presentation
  • 9 - 10 a.m.  Open House for those who wish to play with Apple MacBooks or iPads, and for those who have specific questions for the Apple representatives.
*Please note, you must register online in advance if you wish to have breakfast. The Q&A and Open House sessions do not require registration.

The Band of the Grenadier Guards presents:
A Night at the Proms

British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) in conjunction with The Band of the Grenadier Guards present A Night at the Proms at Medicine Hat College. The Band of the Grenadier Guards has been filling the streets of London with music, pageantry and colour for over three centuries, a truly iconic sight and sound. In 2011 the band participated in the procession for the marriage of HRH Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton. More recently, the band has been particularly busy as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the London 2012 Olympics in addition to the named State Ceremonial duties they carry out in their daily routine.

Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy the Grenadier Guards right here at Medicine Hat College. Admission is by donation.

One Book One Community

The 8th annual One Book One Community book selection is The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway. Activities for the OBOC event include:

Friday October 12
Esplanade Studio Theatre, 7 p.m.
OBOC and the Esplanade present an evening with author Steven Galloway. A musical performance by the Community Orchestra, book sales, and reception will follow.

Saturday October 13
Medicine Hat College, 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Book discussions and other activities, including a presentation by Terry Chapman and Peter Mueller. A highlight for the day will be discussions lead by special guests who lived through the Siege of Sarajevo and now call Medicine Hat home.
