Rotary Music Festival
March 5 to 18
It's that time of year again. The MHC campus would like to extend a warm welcome to the Rotary Music Festival. There will be many performances taking place throughout the two weeks at the college and the Cultural Centre.
The highlights are the Rosebowl concert on Friday, March 16 and the Stars of the Festival concert on Sunday, March 18 in the College Theatre.
Almost St. Patrick's Day Recess

All MHC. faculty and staff are invited to attend the Almost St. Patrick’s Day Recess. Beer, wine, and soft drinks will be available to purchase for $1 each. Enter the potato-chip-tasting contest, win prizes, and come out for some great social fun. This event is sponsored by the Faculty Association Social Committee.
Spencer West

SAMHC is hosting guest speaker Spencer West. Born with a genetic disorder that claimed both of his legs, Spencer travels the world to share the message that when people believe in themselves, anything is possible. Social Work Practicum Fundraiser

Join us for an evening of fun, food, music and silent auction. Nine students from the social work program are going to Africa in May for two months as part of an international social work practicum. Over the next three weeks they will be collecting Canadian Tire Money. Donations can be made at Starbucks, the bookstore, the library and the division of Health Studies front office.

Qi Gong – A Moving Meditation

The word Qi means Life Force and Gong means to work with or master. Qi Gong is the way to cultivate this energy and use it to heal and strengthen every system throughout the body. By combining gentle stretches, strengthening postures, and flowing movements, Qi Gong opens the body and its energy system in a blissful and therapeutic way. Qi Gong flow routines can be learned very quickly, and they are perfect for people of all ages and fitness levels. Qi Gong’s gentle, rhythmic exercises combined with simple breathing techniques become a moving meditation. Register through Continuing Studies by March 26, 2012. The cost for the 6-week session is $99. The instructor is Deanna Ries.
Faculty Glow Bowling Night

Attention all faculty! The MHC Faculty Association Social Committee is sponsoring a Glow Bowling Night. No experience is necessary, just come out for a great time. On April 22, more than one billion people around the globe will participate in Earth Day 2012 and help Mobilize the Earth. People of all nationalities and backgrounds will voice their appreciation for the planet and demand its protection. Together we will stand united for a sustainable future and call upon individuals, organizations, and governments to do their part.

Sapper Stephan Stock Memorial Walk for Valour Place

The proceeds from this memorial walk for MHC alumnus Sapper Stephen Stock will benefit Valour Place. Valour Place, the first facility of its kind in Canada, will provide a home for injured soldiers, veterans, RCMP and their families when in Edmonton for medical treatment and rehabilitation.
