ARC Sessions for Students
Due to recent students’ requests, staff in Academic Resources Centre (ARC) will be providing six “on-demand” tutoring sessions for the next three weeks. Students can come to ARC on the following dates, and ask for Tanis who will be providing the service free of charge. The following subjects will be covered and all sessions will take place in the ARC (3rd floor of B Wing) starting at noon.
Nov. 4th- time management, goal making
Nov. 5th- learning styles, note taking, reading comprehension
Nov 8th - test taking strategies, test anxiety, exam preparation
Nov 9th- process of writing a paper, how to research, how to format an essay
Nov. 15th- APA formatting
Nov. 16th - Punctuation
Nov. 18th - time management, goal making
Nov. 19th - learning styles, note taking, reading comprehension

- SORAN PARA-PARA (JAPAN)PARA-PARA is a modern dance which gradually got into its own style. Soran Para-Para is a remake of the Japanese traditional dance “SORAN-BUSHI” and will be performed by some Japanese girls.
- TAI CHI CHUAN (CHINA)
Tai Chi is a Chinese traditional martial art practiced over thousands of years. Steve who works for the International Education Office will perform two forms for us. - SORAN-BUSHI (JAPAN)Originally, Soran-Bushi was a dance to celebrate fishermen’s hard work; however it was remade by a famous Japanese television drama to show the students bond for the class. It is now danced by many high school students in Japan and third year since it has first preformed in Medicine Hat. 15 Japanese students will be performing.
4 p.m. - 9 p.m. @ crave
The International Student Club invites students and host families to crave for their Passport night. Passports will be sold for $5 and will allow individuals to try Pacifico (Mexican Beer), Brahma (Brazilian Beer), Soju (Korean liquer), Sake-Gekkeikan (Japanese liquor), and Plum Wine (Japanese wine). Crave will also prepare - for International Education Week only - an international appetizer platter; including Spring Rolls, Edamame, Quesodippers, and Dumplings.
Student Appreciation Lunch
November 17
The Campus Life Events Committee will be hosting a student Appreciation lunch on November 17 starting at 11:30 a.m. Two slices will be served to students and employees, while quantities last.
Medicine Hat College Children’s Christmas Party
December 4, 11 a.m.
All M.H.C. employees and their children or grandchildren are invited to attend. The party will begin at 11:00 in the College Theatre with lunch being served at 12:00 noon in the cafeteria. MHC Annual Christmas Party

Mark your calendars for MHC's Annual Christmas Party! The party will take place in the Wild Rose Room of Higdon Hall at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Grounds. Tickets are available at The Bookstore until November 26 (when paying by cheque or cash) for $20/person. Payment can be made by by payroll deduction until November 18.
