A group of third year community nursing students, in collaboration with the Canadian Cancer Society, will be raising awareness for the campaign "Vote for Health" on September 29. Stop by their booth in the B Wing hallway from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. to learn more about how you can support the fight against cancer through the "Vote for Health" campaign.
Career Spotlight
Wednesday, September 29
Career Services is undertaking a couple of new initiatives this year, one of which is called Career Spotlight. The purpose of our Career Spotlight is to highlight career-related opportunities and services for our students by bringing on-campus various organizations that have something to offer to students from a broad range of programs.
The first Career Spotlight will take place on Wednesday, September 29 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will feature Community Employment Services. They will have representatives at a booth by the Cafeteria to discuss the various services they provide for the community, including
- programs for Persons with Disabilities,
- programs for Mature Students,
- personality/vocational assessments,
- labour market information,
- self-empowerment workshops,
- training programs (trades, service/hospitality, and disabilities services sectors),
- job placement, and
- certification opportunities (First Aid, WHMIS, Food Safe, Proserve).
MHC Spirit Day
September 30
Wear Gold AND Black Attire or MHC/Rattlers gear and show your school spirit! Students and employees showing their spirit will have an opportunity to enter a draw at to win some cool prizes. A table will be set up by the cafeteria from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. where they can enter their names in the draw.

One Book One Community 2010
This year’s book selection is Three Day Road by Giller Prize winner Joseph Boyden. Copies of the book may be borrowed from the Medicine Hat College Libraries (Vera Bracken Library & Brooks Campus) and the Medicine Hat Public Library.
